Two Great Comments and Questions from the Field

Recently on our Facebook Rod group, Truth Tellers, we had a short study arise from two questions we received. As we deal with many questions during our work in the vineyard we found these two particularly timely and thought- provoking. As we are well aware studying is well spoken of in His Word.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15)

Rightly dividing the word of truth, as the Word says, is such an enjoyable experience. So let us look at them. Before we do our study text for this report is the following —

“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.” (1 SLM, p.37)

Take note of the fact that Davidians, as well as SDA, should be able to acknowledge that there are some lessons we learned before that must be — unlearned. If we ask a brother what are some of the lessons that they think they have to unlearn, watch carefully their response. If they say or imply that they don’t know of any, then they are not studying the message as they should, These comments and questions will show what we are talking about.

1) Brother J said, “Jacob was troubled by his own brother, after Ezekiel 9 they will be no brother to trouble the 144, so that means Jacob’s time of trouble first then Ezekiel 9.”

This is one of the long time misunderstandings. The truth is that the message does show us that there will be SDA Esaus alive after Ezek. 9, yet lost, and also Esaus in the world after Ezek. 9.

“The SRod does not claim that all those professing to be S.D.A’s “who have step by step yielded to worldly demands,” will fall under the slaughter weapons of Ezekiel’s vision, but rather that every active member who does not receive the “mark” (or seal of Eze. 9), excluding those who have departed from the organized work but who yet claim to be Seventh-day Adventists — a class at the present time numbering thousands.
According to Vol. 5, p. 81 some of those who are independent of the organization but still claim to be S.D.A’s will not “subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death,” but will “slide into any position to suit the tenor of their feelings.” T.M. 112. {1 SC no.5, p.5}


Secondarily, Esau exists not only in SDA church but in the world right now and also after Ezek. 9, let us read —

“Let us now for a moment consider Mohammed, to whom something like 220,000,000 people bow. What kind of man was he? Was he a deceiver? or was he a teacher of righteousness? — Let us also consider the people who were taught by him. They were the descendants of Lot and Abraham, — Moabites, Esauites, and Ishmaelites, etc., all of them bitter enemies of the Hebrews, and their religion.” (2 TG, vol. 2, no.26,
p.17-18)

2) Brother S asked — How can JTT come after Ezek. 9 when the mark of the beast (Sunday law) is shown in number 5 (winds let loose) and comes after 4 (Ezek. 9). He said that no. 6 (JTT) shows then, that it comes after the Sunday Law?

“4. That the destruction of the tares from among the first fruits of the living (Matt. 13:30, 48, 49; Ezek. 9:6, 7) results in the purification of the church.
5. That immediately thereafter, the angels let loose the four winds (Rev. 7:1-3), whereupon ensues the time of trouble and Michael’s standing up to deliver from it, all whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Dan. 12:1).
6. That the angels’ letting loose the four winds to blow over the four corners of the earth (Rev. 7:1), does not anticipate a World war but rather a world wide decree enforced throughout Babylon by the image-beast, and that then no one may buy or sell save he who worships “the image.” Rev. 13:15-17.” (FB TRACT, p. 12-13)

First , notice that the winds are let loose after Ezek.9 (point 5 after point 4).
Now look at point 6 carefully. When is the enforcement of the Sunday Law shown there to take place? The time Babylon has the SL enforced upon it WORLDWIDE, not before that time. We know that the SL begins first in USA.
Look at this chart, when is the timeline for worldwide enforcement of SL for Babylon?



Thus we see, once again that Inspiration is right and in perfect harmony with Itself. What we see here is also the fact that we should abide by counsel regarding marking and applying each and every word. The words “anticipate” and “enforced throughout Babylon by the image beast” are key to figuring out how we know the right timeline.

So number 5 and 6 on the timeline is not saying the Sunday law happens right after Ezek. 9, it is saying the winds are let loose and these winds will cause to come about (anticipate) the time of the Sunday Law enforced throughout the world. It’s ultimate culmination in other words.

“…as there are no useless words in either of the writings, those who desire to know the truth must carefully mark every word, otherwise they will never comprehend the truth and, as a consequence, they will be driven by the winds as the waves of the sea until the winds cease blowing (probation closes), and they be left to sink down in their sins as do the waves in the sea.”(SC, vol. 2, no.7-8, p.10)

These are but just a couple examples of why we must “unlearn” longtime lessons brought by some DSDA teachers not in tune with the Word of the Lord.

Edstrom’s Hypocrisy Continues

Our King continued to blast hypocrisy. For instance —

“..woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.” (Matt. 23:13)

And for good measure the Lord’s Rod states in startling terms —

“God hates hypocrites more than He hates any other kind of sinners.” (1 TG, no. 44, p.5)

Our old friend Eric Edstrom, appears to be at it again. As is his way, he uses a public forum to expose his hypocrisy, but only to those who know just what tricks he is up to. To some, we suppose his sleight of hand work, an artful way he presents his reports and videos no doubt fool the unsuspecting.

To remind our readers Edstrom and his wife Connie run the mom and pop shop called “UPA7.org”. Along with their other websites “WhyPerish.org” and “Shepherd’s Rod Speaks. org”.

Recently we announced in Davidia that several brethren from different organizations (both leaders and members) would be coming together for a series of meetings to study the “new codes”. Brother Carlyle and myself have led this series, both of us spreading the word far and wide of these important studies.

Well, we were not surprised to see that none other than Edstrom, under the guise “Plea with Mother” had joined us in our meetings. In the first or second meeting, we don’t recall, he participated in the comment section during our meeting. Making a lot of comments and railing against the new codes and certain organizations (which was to be expected). However, shortly after his partaking in our meeting via the comment section, he chose to make a video on his YouTube channel called “Universal Publishing Association”.

His video was basically a lambasting report mocking our work as “unauthorized” and a “crazy idea.” Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. However the next meeting, yours truly called out Edstrom in our beginning comments, basically saying that if one has a beef and wishes to join us, then why not be a man and speak up, say what needs to be said, instead of hiding behind an alias in the comment section.

“And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” (Rev. 14:5)

Well apparently that sparked him up and the next meeting Edstrom did speak up and even introduced himself and made several pertinent comments throughout our meeting. Many of them were good helpful comments on the codes in discussion and we even mentioned that we agreed with some of his points.

This is how we as brethren were to —

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”( 2 Tim. 2:15)

As we made mention over and over again, our studies were to see what harmonizes with the published message of the prophet and what did not. But apparently, this study is not good enough for Edstrom. To him, we are to bury and burn all these historical writings as they are not authorized by God nor the prophet. Frankly, we DO AGREE they are not authorized and as such should NOT be part of the Golden Bowl.

However, it is not our place to make decisions for the brethren as to whether they are a part of the Bowl or not. If we can point out what harmonizes and what doesn’t then we have done our work and the report will show that. But Edstrom’s problem is much deeper, he has for a long long time now supposed himself to be sort of a lone ranger, who alone is working for God as an organization. His videos continually point this supposed fact out.

Hypocritically, he joined again in our meeting number four, contributing to our cause and study then turns around and makes a “second video” recently, saying our meetings are “unauthorized” and an “exercise in futility”. Do you like to participate in exercises of futility Edstrom? Or are you just blinded again by your own hypocrisy? Unauthorized by who? Since you label all other organizations as unauthorized and apostate, this authorization should come from you? Brethren have to have your authorization or anyone else’s to study together?

The Lord has shown this kind of “Holier than thou” false righteousness is a “smoke” in His nostrils”!

“Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in My nose, a fire that burneth all the day.” (Isaiah 65:5)

The following is something Edstrom and all those who partake , should be fearfully afraid of —

“Who went into the promised land? — All but the murmurers. Do you suppose that you can entertain the same spirit of murmuring and complaining, and in spite of it receive the seal? — How absurd the very thought! How unfair it would be for a just God to destroy the disobedient of that day, but to save the disobedient of this day.

What made one group eligible to cross the Jordan? — It was their trust in God, knowing that He was their Chief Leader. They recognized Moses and Joshua as the ones through whom God was communicating with them. They did not look upon them as being anyone other than who they actually were. They were satisfied with their lot. They took orders as the orders were given. So it was that they were the only ones who entered into the land.” (1 TG, no. 7,p.12)

We see there is a need for Davidia as a whole to know the extent that Edstrom is trying to “pull the wool” over present truth believer’s eyes, and by God’s grace, we intend to put out a much-needed video on our channel explaining all his hypocrisy, tricks and camouflages.

“It is right for the workers to counsel together as brethren; but that man who endeavors to lead his fellow workers to seek his individual counsel and advice regarding the details of their work, and to learn their duty from him, is in a dangerous position and needs to learn what responsibilities are really comprehended in his office. God has appointed no man to be conscience for his fellowmen.” (Testimonies to Ministers, p.477)

A Command is Weightful

As we are very familiar with the Lord’s 10 Commandments, the Lord gave us “commands”. In other words, these are not “maybes, kind ofs, possibles, depends, etc”. There are straight and to the point, no if, ands, or buts.

This being so we have many other commands given throughout the Bible as well. Deuteronomy especially gives many. But what about the Rod message? Do we find commands given there? Yes.

Instrumental in a command is the word “not”. Such as “Do not” “Think not” and similar commands. True they are not the great 10 Commandments, but they are commands NOT to do something.

We lay this foundation because this is important in the following issue — the Florence Houteff/Adair teaching of the intervening time. Briefly, to remind our readers this is the teaching that after the sealing of the 144,000 there will be an intervening time, an undetermined length of time that exists BEFORE the Ezek. 9 church judgment.

However, one organization does declare how long that intervening time will be –Mt. Dale. Below is the group’s “Chart of Events”. You will notice that the intervening time is declared to be 42 months.

So this issue is VERY important because it declares end-time events and the timing of them.

Ok, back to our commands issue. In Tract 1, page 38 we read —

“After the sighing and crying ones were marked (which is not to be understood as being consummated in its entirety worldwide before the slaying follows anywhere), the slaughter completed, and the matter reported, the Lord “spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city.” Ezek. 10:2.

Do we see a command here? Of course we do “which is NOT to be understood…”. Thus those who think that the sealing is completed before the slaying starts are defiantly ignoring the Lord’s commands to NOT think that way. Yes this is simple yet it is profound.

We are counseled time and again to do the following —

“…as there are no useless words in either of the writings, those who desire to know the truth must carefully mark every word, otherwise they will never comprehend the truth and, as a consequence, they will be driven by the winds as the waves of the sea until the winds cease blowing (probation closes), and they be left to sink down in their sins as do the waves in the sea.”(SC, vol. 2, no.7-8, p.10)

“…when we take into consideration the meaning of each word instead of making thoughtless and hasty conclusions, the Scriptures prove to be not only most perfect and wonderful and yet simple, but also inspiring, making wise the humble — and lightening the path of him who as did Christ, delights to do the will of God.” (SC, vol. 2, no. 2, p.3)

“..to him who digs deep into the well of salvation, and that can think and reason for himself.  Such a one reads between the lines and notes the full value of each word.” (1 TG, no.45, p.22)

“Hold not to what fabricated ideas seem to make the Scriptures say, but grip tenaciously to what the Word, in simplicity, plainly says.” (Tract 10, p.13)

“..the only safe and sane procedure is to read closely every page of the solemn message contained in The Shepherd’s Rod publications. Let not a line escape your attention. Study every word carefully and prayerfully. Be earnest and diligent in your perusal of Truth, and “prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” 1 Thess. 5:21. (5 Ans, p.29)

Each word must be accounted for. We are not to skip over it as if we are some school children merrily hopscotching over the playground! As the word says we will “ never comprehend the truth and, as a consequence, they will be driven by the winds as the waves of the sea until the winds cease blowing (probation closes), and they be left to sink down in their sins as do the waves in the sea.”(SC, vol. 2, no.7-8, p.10)

A perfect example is in Daniel 2:44 “And IN the days of these kings…” We rely on that tiny word to show the true meaning of the lesson , right?

So what we have is extremely weightful evidence of NO INTERVENING TIME. Those who have taught this false idea are simply not weighing the evidence. Further powerful evidence is from one of our basic “first learned” quotes that nails it as well —

“The names of those who are steadfastly looking and waiting and watching for the appearing of their Saviour—more earnestly and wishfully than they who wait for the morning—will be numbered with those who are sealed. Those who, while having all the light of truth flashing upon their souls, should have works corresponding to their avowed faith, but are allured by sin, setting up idols in their hearts, corrupting their souls before God, and polluting those who unite with them in sin, will have their names blotted out of the book of life, and be left in midnight darkness, having no oil in their vessels with their lamps. “Unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings.” TM 445.1

This sealing of the servants of God is the same that was shown to Ezekiel in vision. John also had been a witness of this most startling revelation. He saw the sea and the waves roaring, and men’s hearts failing them for fear. He beheld the earth moved, and the mountains carried into the midst of the sea (which is literally taking place), the water thereof roaring and troubled, and the mountains shaking with the swelling thereof. He was shown plagues, pestilence, famine, and death performing their terrible mission.” 

Here we see that John in Rev. 7 was seeing the same thing Ezekiel saw in chapter 9. John saw it from one angle (sealing process) and Ezekiel saw it from another (slaying of those who didn’t receive the seal). Where’s intervening here? It doesn’t and cannot exist as the word says they are the same process of sealing. In other words this harmonizes perfectly with the prophet’s view that the sealing is completed DURING Ezek. 9 , not before.

There are many other references we could bring but we think the idea is understood clearly. We have “many many lessons to unlearn” as the prophetess said (1 SLM, page 37).

Once we stand upon this clear teaching the house of cards come crashing down. The false timelines MUST be taken down and replaced with the right timelines based on the “Thus sayeth the Lord” and not “Thus sayeth our handed down taught doctrines” or “Thus sayeth Florence Houteff or Don Adair.”

May we suggest a good starting point? How about the Fundamental Beliefs timeline? Can’t get any more weightful than that!

Update on the First meeting

In 2 Tim. 2:15 we read —

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Oh how this is so valuable, study and dividing the Word of Truth! This is what we came together for recently. The New Code research committee looking over all the New Codes began. Let us point out the highlights of the meeting.

Ok, we gathered with good size crowd with many leaders coming together from Mt. Dale, Waco, and Bashan. Granted we all do not agree on some of the doctrines, at least this may be a starting point to discuss Scripture and the controversies. As the ol proverb says ” a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.”

The meeting started out with a statement of our intent and goals along with a little history. After this short prelude we opened with prayer.

One of our main objections is to “unlearn” some of the long-time lessons we have been taught, of which many have come to us through Salem, specifically through Don Adair. One of our main inspired reference counsel is —

“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.” (CWE, p.37)

These lessons we need to unlearn unfortunately often have as a basis for doctrine –the New Codes. For example, JTT before Ezek. 9 relies on them, Assyria Confederacy causing trouble to the church pre-Ezek. 9 relies on them, the intervening time between the sealing and the Ezek. 9 judgment relies on them and some others.

Therefore if this false foundation can come down, the aforesaid doctrines will have no legs, as it were. Our desire is for –harmonization. What harmonizes and what does not? Do any of the codes bring insightful information that will be helpful for history, study, etc? Do some even bring more support to doctrines and teachings found in the writings of the prophet’s published work?

In meeting one we emphasized that we DO NOT want to infringe on anyone’s belief on whether they are part of the Golden Bowl or not. Our report is to make clear what is contradictory from each code and what is in harmony. In the closet of prayer, each may inquire of the Lord what his position shall be concerning them.

Ok, let’s look at what was discussed. Brother Terry pulled up volume 10, no.3-4 on the Zoom screen. This code we began with as it is the first Florence Houteff published code made in Feb. 1955. We decided it was not necessary to read general statements such as the sermon for VTH’s funeral, and inspired quotes that we all do not have any issue with. This would save precious time as we have ALOT of codes to go through.

In this first code, the brethren generally had no issues as to contradictions, except in one area. One was the page 21 where it discusses the election of officers. One brother mentioned that the election of Florence Houteff was not legal and therefore set the wrong precedent in Davidia. This is a controversial area and it was decided that this would be highlighted as an area of concern by some of the brethren.

The rest of the volume 10 codes were read and we generally found no issues with them as to contradictions. In fact Vol. 10 no. 7, a letter VTH sent to a SDA Elder, was found to be of interest due to the prophet’s explaining and rebutting the Elder about how VTH was presenting the message the way he was. Very insightful information.

So the meeting concluded with the volume 10 New Codes being largely historic in nature with no doctrinal or prophecy issues except with the issue of the process of electing officers.

A Courageous Archbishop who stands up to Evil

The Spirit of Propehcy said —

“Among the Catholics there are many who are most conscientious Christians and who walk in all the light that shines upon them, and God will work in their behalf.” (Testimonies , vol. 9, p.243)

“God has jewels in all the churches, and it is not for us to make sweeping denunciation of the professed religious world.” (Last Day Events, p.197)

One thing we have found in our study of the Scriptures is that God has always placed a premium on courage and inner fortitude. We find Joseph holding firm again the king’s promiscuous wife. Daniel praying without fear of reprisal. Elijah taking on single handedly the prophets of Baal. King David taking on Goliath. And on and on.

Now we would like to show you a Catholic leader who has stood up to even his own church for defense of the Truth! His name is Carlo Maria Vigano. He exposes the sins of the Catholic church and pleads in a most heartfelt way, the righteous return to the old traditions of worshipping without corruption and the sincerely of their faith.

This man is very well informed in the “behind the scenes” actions of the Globalists, he seems keenly knowledgable of the world’s evil agenda today. He explains the “plandemic” and its active sinister phases. We highly suggest you take the time to watch this full interview and watch a man’s courage to speak against evil.

Granted, to us present truth believers, we see he lacks some Scriptural light on the world’s future path, but nevertheless he seems to be walking in the light he has, and this could mean a promise of coming into more light by God’s grace.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” (1 Cor. 16:13)

Note: right after we began this post, Italy had a big protest over it’s government mandates and Archbishop Vigano’s name was loudly chanted during the protest. The people are aware of this controversy in their church.

A Committe Ready for Business!

The Lord’s Rod declares —

“Let us get ready for the kingdom, for there is a church and a world to save, and God is anxious that we get down to business and very quickly if we are to be among the admired Jews of tomorrow and live in perfect peace under everlasting security.” (1 TG, no.22, p.31)

That’s right –get down to business! Enough of mixing Truth with error and passing it off as “Truth”. The time has now come for the New Codes to be thoroughly examined and searched closely. The Lord has put it upon our hearts to soon begin a series of meetings to go over these codes.

Recently many of you know that Mt. Dale held a 14 day session to discuss among other things the New Codes. As we attended most of it, we witnessed a sad situation. The old guard, those that remain steadfast in holding onto Don Adair’s private contructions of Jacob’s time of trouble, Assyrian confederacy, labelling our Fundamental beliefs as nothing special or noteworthy, and holding onto the New Codes including those with outright error and added prophecies by Florence Houteff, stood their stubborn ground.

During the meeting we reached out to a coulpe of the old guard with an invitation to sit down and have honest discussions of the New Codes and what we must do about them as present truth believers. Well, there is the ol well known saying “Silence is Golden”, but in this case the silence was NOT golden. In fact it was disturbing and clear evidence that “rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing” doesn’t neccesarily apply to SDA, but truly to some DSDA at times.

Further we made special notice during session and mentioned something on more than one occassion with the following clear counsel–

“We have many lessons to learn, and many many to unlearn” (1 SLM, p.37)

Well, it became increasingly clear that we cannot depend on some of the old guard to come to the table for this most important endeavor. Therefore, as we supped with the Lord, the idea came.

Let us call a series of meetings with leading brethren in Davidia, to closely examine, one by one, the New Codes. We want to see which ones “harmonize” with VTH’s published writings and which ones do not. In other words, what should be taught and what should not. This is truly “the answer” to our situation.

The New Codes, whether we like it or not have been out in the field for decades. The “100% Rod Only” group of pioneers , which regrouped in 1961 often quoted from them in their sessions and meetings. And many of the brethren are of the opinion that they are part of the Golden Bowl. So we really can’t logically “put the cat back in the box” as they say. So let’s deal with it. BOTH sides can claim victory. Harmony wins and error and confusion loses!

So then the old guard can still teach with them (those that are found in harmony with the original writings) and the strong opposers (aka – NONE of the New Codes should be part of the Golden Bowl group) will have to admit that certain NC’s are in complete harmony with the message, and they will have nothing to stand upon against them. Who fights Truth and wins?

Admittingly, yours truly was of the belief that the NC’s should be all discarded for many years. But, after having a discussion with a few leading brethren, one of whom said “why throw the baby out with the bath water?”, I came to realize that if any of the New codes are found in harmony with the message then why do we need to throw it out? Especially after being personally blessed with NC vol. 13, no, 5,6 on the Sabbath. Truth is Truth–right?

When we take a close look at two New Codes, for example, Vol. 10, no. 7 (VTH letter) and Vol. 13, no. 5,6 (about the Sabbath) if we don’t see clear unalterated truth in those then we need to have our pulse checked.

Leaders of Mt. Dale, Waco, Bashan, and some independent groups , such as Truth Tellers, will come together for a series of study meetings to carefully examine each code , one by one, to see if a) it harmonizes with VTH published writings, or b) it does not harmonize and/or has Florence Houteff private prophecies and words, not in accordancwe with the message.

The harmonious codes will be pointed out in a final report, and the error and non-harmonious codes made mention of and then we shall, as brethren, put out a final report based on the studious effort.

It is hoped to make the report available to the vineyard field soon after the series of meetings have taken place. This report , we pray, will be helpful and even instrumental when time comes for the differrent groups come together for their sessions.

In closing, the Rod message is clear —

“..I have stated that the Shepherd’s Rod contains either all Truth, or there is no Truth in it.” (SC, vol. 10, no. 7, p.11)

And finally we will see that the above statement is Truth in regard to the New Codes, and no more with many of the leading brethren teaching from the error filled and compromised Florence Houteff codes. We are trying our best to “right the ship” here but are not under any delusion that the enemy of souls won’t try to harm this work. We ask your prayers for this endeavor.

A Lesson to Unlearn (Part 2 of 2)

We shall continue with our last post showing the widely circulated “Chart of Events”. Let us look at the next references.

2 TG, no, 8, p. 21,22

Joel 2:15, 16 — “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.”

In these verses, as in Joel 2:1, the command is given to blow the trumpet in Zion. This second trumpet, however, is not to announce the day of God, but to sanctify both a fast and the people, to call a solemn assembly, from which not one is to be excluded from the assembly.

Joel 2:17 — “Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Here we are plainly told that God’s people are to face persecution and distress, and that unless they keep close to the Lord their very existence may be at stake, God’s name dishonored, and the heathen allowed to rule over them and to challenge their faith in God.”

Once again we see no rhyme or reason why this Word of God is used to promote JTT before Ezek.9. None.

13 SC no.3, p.8

“Isa. 8:11, 12—“For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.”

God’s people are not only commanded not to participate in the confederacy, but they are to oppose it “to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy.”

“Neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.” It is upon the root of some fear that the confederacy is formed. But that which constitutes their fear is not to constitute the fear of God’s people.

Isa. 8:13—“Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.”

God alone is to be revered; God alone is to be feared and dreaded. If there were no possibility for fear at the fulfillment of this chapter, there would be no need for this reassurance and instruction. It is indicative of the fact that God’s People will see themselves absolutely helpless, and they will appear helpless to all others. Then they will receive deliverance from God, and all will behold it.

If God’s people are approaching the time when they must either confederate or sacrifice their lives, they must be developing that faith which will cause them to believe that “in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Rev. 9:6.

Once again private contruction is in full bloom here. Notice the key words “fear” and “dreaded”, “helpless”. These are words that the constuctors can apply to JTT-it nicely fits, right? Wow. Time and again we see craftily constructed passages from the message constructed to produce the final result–JTT before Ezek. 9.

Ref. no. 8 —

Luke 18:7,8

“7- And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. 8-Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

The Rod never explains Luke 18:7, so who has the authority to place that before Ezek. 9? Private constructors apparently! On verse 2 the Rod does not even come close to placing it to JTT, let alone to pre-Ezek. 9 JTT.

SRod Tract (pocket edition) , p.19,20

“Furthermore, the query, “Shall He find faith on the earth?” is not questioning the number of saints at this particular coming, but rather faith itself regardless of number. And if at His appearing in the clouds to take home the faithful, He finds no faith in the earth, then what about His waiting church, which is to be without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, be it small or great?

Shepherd’s Rod Tract 1, page 19

Obviously, His coming recorded in Luke 18:8 cannot be the one of 1 Thessalonians 4:17, His coming “in the clouds.” But it could be the one of Malachi 3:2, 3, and Matthew 13:30, 47-48, leading to Matthew 25:31-33. His coming to His temple is to separate the sinners from the saints, at the commencement of which Inspiration asks, “Who may abide the day of His coming?”

We have no clue why this is supportive of JTT pre-Ezek. 9 (??)

Ref. no. 10 —

EW, p.37

“I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus’ work was done in the sanctuary, and then will come the seven last plagues. These plagues enraged the wicked against the righteous; they thought that we had brought the judgments of God upon them, and that if they could rid the earth of us, the plagues would then be stayed. A decree went forth to slay the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance. This was the time of Jacob’s trouble. Then all the saints cried out with anguish of spirit, and were delivered by the voice of God. The 144,000 triumphed. Their faces were lighted up with the glory of God.”

This ref is used by the Rod to confirm JTT, however it is done in volume 1 of the SRod, which we all know had NO LIGHT on the pre-mil kingdom. Thus it is to be understood by this counsel —

“…there are circumstances in connection with certain aspects of every message which necessitate clarification. Such clarification, however, can be no greater than the light which shines at the time. And the light may come solely from within the message itself, or, again, it may derive from a limited understanding common to the time “then present”–an understanding which the messenger himself shares.” (1 Ans, p.49)

3 SG, p.23

“THE CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD, AND THE DELIVERANCE OF THE REMNANT, SPOKEN OF IN CLOSE RELATION TO THE GREAT DAY OF THE LORD, EVIDENTLY REFER TO THE CLOSING SCENES OF THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN THIS MORTAL STATE. THE OPPRESSED PEOPLE OF GOD ARE YET TO RAISE TO HEAVEN ONE UNITED DAY AND NIGHT CRY FOR DELIVERANCE. LUKE XVIII. THIS IS SYMBOLIZED BY THE MESSAGE OF PRAYER OF THE FOURTH ANGEL OF REV. XIV, 15. AND IN ANSWER TO THIS PRAYER, THE REMNANT WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS, WILL FIND DELIVERANCE.”

Again we find key words such as “oppressed people”, “day and night for deliverance”. These could and are constructed to use conviently for the pre-Ezek. 9 JTT–amazing! The Rod never discloses anything on 3 SG, p.23!

“Give a man a good story and the facts soon come trampling after” old folk saying.
They want to present their ideas, it then comes easy to pull out the references here and there, makes no difference whether the Rod confirms it or not!

1 SC, no.9, p.2,3

“Thus it was that once more, because of hatred born of bigotry and self-righteousness, a servant of God was driven to turn for protection to the heathen. It was this same hatred that forced the prophet Elijah to flee for succor to the widow of Sarepta; and that forced the heralds of the gospel to turn from the Jews to proclaim their message to the Gentiles. And this hatred the people of God living in this age have yet to meet.

Among many of the professing followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, and selfishness, the same spirit of oppression, that held so large a place in the Jewish heart. In the future, men claiming to be Christ’s representatives will take a course similar to that followed by the priests and rulers in their treatment of Christ and the apostles. In the great crisis through which they are soon to pass, the faithful servants of God will encounter the same hardness of heart, the same cruel determination, the same unyielding hatred….

..The S.D.A. church, repeating the history of the Jews (5T 160), will be swayed by its “priests” and “rulers” today to take a course against “the faithful servants of God” “similar to that followed by the priests and rulers in their treatment of Christ’s and the Apostles’”. As the 144,000 become more and more like their Saviour, “the light of the world,” making manifest the “darkness and error” enveloping the church, the leaders in their “fanatical hatred” of the saints will move “the mob to a mad fury” against them and, in desperation born of blind and raging hatred, will reach out for the civil arm of power to accomplish their evil ends, merging the following type into antitype.”

The Rod is very clear that an application of “popery” comes to our CURRENT church. Let us read —

At the same time the robbers are cramming the ears of their victims by spreading falsehood against the Rod and doing all they can to silence the alarm by crying, “Unholy! Unholy!” against the messengers of present truth, and thus when the SRod adherents are in church they are herded to a corner by themselves for fear that they may drop a word and awaken some hungry soul. Is this less than popery? (1 SC, no.14, p.3-4)

The trouble such as 5T 160, cannot be used as proof of JTT, let alone to place it where it does not belong.

In closing we see that those private constructors of the “Chart of Events” are teaching a false timeline built upon shifting sand and promulgation of their long time lessons learned from none other than Don Adair of Salem. These lessons must be unlearned as 1 SLM, p.37 counsels us. All one has to do is go to our Fundamental Beliefs (no. 4 to 10) to see the clear God inspired timeline of events that are simple and clear. Jacob’s time of trouble comes AFTER Ezek. 9.

A Lesson to Unlearn (Part 1 of 2)

As day 6 wrapped up of Mt. Dale’s important session discussion, we supped with the Lord and had some good related points come to our attention on why this session is so important.

In Tract 9, page 6 we read —

“..we must base our conclusions solely on the weight of evidence, so that we may not only know all the truth, but also teach nothing but the truth”

The above Chart is produced and made available in the world field as a “present truth” timeline. A Timeline that is suppose to help us know the final event timeline. In this post we will concentrate on just one area — number 7 of the Chart (Jacob’s time of trouble).

These events as they show, provide a event timeline based on what we as DSDA believe. Or at least it is SUPPOSE to!

Let us breifly remind our readers of a little DSDA history. Way back in the late 70’s and early 80’s many of today’s leading brethren from Waco and Mt. Dale were taught by Don Adair of Salem. He taught them the studies such as Jacob’s time of trouble and Assyrian confederacy. The above Chart is basically all that Adair taught them.

The New Codes were largely relied upon, as will be shown, for Jacob’s time of trouble and it’s placement. BUT, we want to zero in on those references that this Chart provides as “inspired” references for the JTT coming before Ezek.9.

This is why Mt. Dale is now forced to acknowledge the long time teachings from Adair as possibly in need of “unlearning.”

There are twelve references given for back up on the no. 7 JTT. We shall look at each of them as to what they say and do they or do they not support the JTT coming before Ezek. 9?

In 1 SLM, p.37 we read —

“We have many lessons to learn and many many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own cherished ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.”

We quote that to Mother often, yet it is a lesson we ourselves MUST LEARN.

Ref no. 1 —

Jer. 30:7

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.”

13 SC, no. 1, p. 9-11

Jer. 30:7—“Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”

Though it is designated as the time of Jacob’s trouble, yet there is no trouble like it in the respect that none is so great. In this prophecy God is revealing that before God’s people return to their father’s land there shall be a time of trouble that will turn all faces pale. It will be a time of trembling, of fear, and of trouble such as never was.”

Brethren, we highlighted the red area, THIS is why there is so much confusion with these codes! “Before” is when Jacob (144,000) is going to have his trouble??? This goes completely against the sermon given by VTH on June 28, 1947 ( 1 TG, no.47). If we read that, it is telling us over and over again the JTT comes as Jacob is “on his way home”. One of the greatest type and anti-type blunders exposed in these New Codes. Read it with this link —

Ref no. 3 —

12 SC no. 5, p.15

“The time will come when the church is to be multiplied and then return home. But when Jacob left his father-in-law’s house, and was on the way back to Palestine, you remember that he had his great time of trouble. It happened before he reached Palestine, his homeland. He wrestled in anguish all night with God, and it was then that his name was changed from Jacob to Israel.

We are not now living in the antitypical time of the changed name, Israel, but we are living in the antitypical “Jacob” time. You might say that Jacob is the fleshly name, a name that does not spell either prince or saint. Why are we still in the time portrayed by Jacob’s sin-denoting name?—Because we have not yet started for home. When we start for home as did Jacob, we, too, shall meet with our time of trouble, even Jacob’s time of trouble.”

We see that instead of supporting the idea that JTT comes before Ezek. 9, this ref shows the opposite! The Chart made to be even more confusing.

Ref no. 4 —

1 TG, no. 47, p.14

“The people that have come to this antitypical time of trouble are returning to the homeland, are comforted. Apparently it is bad enough to frighten all, but God’s encouraging counsel is, “Fear not.”

Plainly, the burden of this chapter is concerning the antitypical returning to the homeland. Though terrible the trouble may seem, yet the outcome of it is to be the same as in the type. Right now we may not appreciate this study as we ought to, but the time is soon coming in which we will dig as fast and as hard for it as we would to get out from under an avalanche. Those who have but little faith in the Word of God though, the study will not do them much good. Now is the time to start cultivating the faith we need to have then.”

Once again the ref clearly shows support for the JTT coming AFTER Ezek. 9 not before. We all know Jacob (the 144,000) will not start returning to the homeland (Israel) until Ezek. 9 takes place.

Ref no. 5 —

Joel 2:15-17

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Now why is this ref put here to support JTT coming before Ezek. 9? Pure construction to support the idea! NOWHERE in all the Rod does it speak of Joel 2:15-17 in connection to JTT. It is only by private construction that this is possible.

Mt. Dale prepares for the “BIG DISCUSSION”

In Counsels on Sabbath School work, page 36, we read —

“Point after point of truth should be investigated; for there is no limitation to the truth of God, and in its study a most lively interest should be felt by both teachers and pupils, that they may know what God hath said. For years the voice of God has been saying to us, “Agitate, agitate, agitate.” Study every point of truth, that you may know for yourselves what is truth in distinction from error. Let students search for themselves, that they may know the deep things of God. Let this work be done in the Spirit of Christ. Put no restriction upon the students.”

Indeed, there is expected a lively discussion coming this Aug 1 to the 14th from the online session via Zoom and FreeConferenceCall. This will not be a formal session due to the Covid situation but a VERY important one none the less.

For years this blog, many websites, Facebook, YouTube, and other media, has discussed the main controversial issues amongst us present truth believers. They are the New Codes (should they be a part of the Golden Bowl?), Jacob’s time of trouble (is it before or after Ezek. 9?) and the Assyrian Confederacy ( what exactly does the Rod teach about this often taught subject?).

Yes, there are other controversies such as where is the main headquarters today, is there an intervening time, chariot travel or physical travel to the kingdom, etc. but the aforementioned topics are FINALLY being seriously addressed by Mt. Dale. Praise the Lord!

The status quo (the long time leaders) will present their case as to why Mt. Dale should continue with the long held view (New Codes are inspired, JTT before Ezek. 9, Assyrian confederacy causing pre-Ezek. 9 persecution to the saints).

The growing flip side members (and this even includes some Mt. Dale current leaders) such as bro. Terry Harrison, bro. Rene Reyes, bro. Mario Fanis, among a good size of other members, will also present their case as to the counter postition. They are of the opinion as stated by Inspiration —

“These strange ideas should not even be mentioned, much less taught as essential truths.” (2 SM, p.25)

It is apparent that the world field has be aroused to a sufficent degree on these issues, and that Mt. Dale has decided they must be dealt with. You see, the Lord’s truth can be held down for only so long.

“How do I know that the great day of the Lord is almost here? — I know it because the announcement of it is here already, and because the message of the marking that is foretold in Ezekiel’s chapter nine, the work of the Judgment, is already making its way throughout the Adventist world. I know it also because the material for the glory that follows immediately thereafter (the material that is to lighten the earth with the glory of the angel, the Loud Cry — Rev. 18:1) is all ready and waiting.”( 1 TG, no. 5, p.12)

An Example of the Enemy of Souls using his Servants

In our last post, we showed how a long time false prophet came to his end, unfufilling his own teachings. In this week’s report we would like to show you a prime example of how the enemy of souls uses his servants, in all their twisting and cleverly ways. In other words, their constructions and ultimate path of perdition, is a serious warning to be –very prayerful and watchful!


“Truth is straight, plain , clear, and stands out boldly in its own defense; but it is not so with error. It is so winding and twisting that it needs a multitude of words to explain it in its croooked form. ” (EW, p.96)


From Ariel Dacutanan in 2014 to yours truly —

“True, verse three found fulfillment in the work of John the Baptist; but the verses preceding and also the verses following, definitely apply to the people in the latter days and only partially to the people in John‟s day. Therefore the truth stands out boldly that the direct fulfillment of this chapter is found in our time, thus making John‟s work an ensample of our work– John‟s work the type, ours the antitype.” (1 TG 36:4)

1) Type — John the Baptist began preaching in 25 A.D.
Anti-Type — V.T. Houteff did preached within 25 years, 1930 – 1955

2) Type — John the Baptist died.

3) Type — The Movement of John the Baptist is not a church, but just an association.
Anti-Type — The Movement of V.T. Houteff is not a church, but just an association.

4) Type — John received a New light from God, but still his Movement is not included on Matthew 20.

Oh brethren, the sophistry of the enemy! We see that Ariel was listening to the enemy and being convinced to teach that VTH died and therefore could not be the real Elijah the tishbite in anti-type. He said his name equalled the sign of 14 letters pointing to him as that Elijah the tishbite who would not die and ultimately lead the Mt. Carmel showdown. All was a futile trick!

Let us take heed of all such imposters who the enemy is now using!
